Beady Bangle Bags and
Snappy Purses

Cute little bags is the idea, we can get there from a felting direction or
from a creative machine stitching angle.
The techniques are relatively
simple- brainstorming ideas so much fun!

You decide and I will tailor the workshop to suit.

For the felt making direction we will first explore the idea of a bag made
using a resist- then the fun begins.
What to add? what surface? embellish with fabrics, beads, felt?...So
many things to try
Lots of pics of interesting textile ideas gleamed during my travels
to share.

Machine stitching direction we will start with layering, stitching
and cutting back [ reverse appliqué and chenille ideas really] then
use that to develop some cute little bags.

Students- go through your magazines- what catches
your eye, how can we incorporate those ideas into
these projects?
Bring the pages along- lets all brainstorm together!
A student Heather made this
treasure and alerted me to these
fabulous snappy clips!
Beaded Handles from the ultimate trim shop in NY
[we were pretending to be touristy so we could snap
the ideas- thanks Robin!] gorgeous scarves...
AKA ideas you could use in your bags

Easy enough to make here and you could attach
them with felted twists? What would you do?
Robin's felt bracelets -same idea makes great
handles...
Just big enough for a purse,
lipstick and mobile phone-
my 16 year old niece
informed me that was all
you needed! Next year she
wants to add car keys...

Oh to be so cool!!
